Initiative

Since its founding in 2010, Vashishtha Luxury Fashion Ltd. ( Formerly known as Vashishtha Exports) has committed to promoting the talent of its many skilled craftsmen. Alongside this, we endeavor to facilitate skills acquisition and the empowerment of neurodiverse and female artisans. Furthermore, we are dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting sustainable fashion systems. While working towards this cause, Vashishtha is approaching multiple organizations, NGOs & trusts, and we look forward to a successful partnering with them in the near future.

01

Providing Skills & Enrichment To Neurodiverse Children

Vashishtha's goal is to collaborate with various non-profit organizations and trusts to provide therapeutic and practical craft skills workshops to neurodiverse children.

This would cover such skills as hand painting and creating accessories and could provide a pathway into employment for them later in life.

02

Women Empowerment

Vashishtha takes an innovative and imaginative stance, encouraging competent women to steps toward self-sufficiency. As the hand embroidery industry in India is primarily dominated by men, vashishtha's main goal is to teach women the craft of needle pointing.

Vashishtha wants to enable talented but underprivileged women who are under the poverty line to improve their artistic abilities and eventually find cooperative job options so they can become independent and successfully manage their families.

Vashishtha is set to design a program that educates these women to get training on the various embroidery techniques and capabilities that are essential to operate in the luxury apparel sector. Vashishtha will also ensure that they are employed once their training program is complete to ensure financial independence and freedom for them and their families.

03

Reduction Of Plastic Usage

Vashishtha is committed to drastically reducing their 'virgin' plastic usage by the end of 2023. Plastic pollution is one of the world's most critical environmental concerns, with the abundance of disposable plastic goods (both pre-existing and newly manufactured) overburdening recycling and processing centers, unable to be sufficiently collected and stopped from polluting the natural environment.

Vashishtha truly believes that it is time to say a "BIG NO" to using plastic wherever possible. The Vashishtha team is committed to sourcing sustainable alternatives for their usual embroidery materials. Please do ask us if you'd like to hear more on the alternatives we have sourced so far.

Moving in this direction, our factory has committed to reduce the overall use of plastic internally, and in our packaging department, by 80% by the end of 2023.

04

Eco-friendly Packaging

At Vashishtha we are committed to making eco-friendly choices in our packaging department. Any larger shipments are sent in recycled cardboard boxes, padded inside with shredded paper rather than bubble wrap. Where necessary, plastic pouches are used to protect against possible water damage, but these pouches are recyclable.

We aim to reduce our plastic usage further by replacing packing tape with paper tape with water-activated adhesive and looking into biodegradable, waterproof alternatives to plastic pouches. We invite suggestions from our client base on areas we should improve, or whether they have any suggestions on packaging products we can look at implementing. Please drop us a line with any suggestions you have.

Embroidery Supplies Towards Educating Future Generations

Vashishtha partners with The Stitch Archive, an international textile education facility based in London. Vashishtha donate dead-stock embroidery materials to The Stitch Archive, supplying their students with exceptional embroidery supplies to use in their practical workshop and skills acquisition.

The materials inspire a new generation of young designers and help them to form an understanding of the fashion and textiles industry, whilst also letting them start building their own stock of specialist materials.
